IKEA - Tiny Homes

  • Date: 18/11/2021

With the Tiny Homes campaign, IKEA Japan is out to prove that they have bespoke solutions that can turn any space into a happy home, no matter how small.

Tiny Homes sees IKEA’s iconic soft toy shark, BLÅHAJ, come to life as a fully realized character for the first time. Serving as the world’s first “Real Estate Shark,” Agent BLÅHAJ is the storyteller of the campaign, from his “Tiny Homes” real estate agency, where he brings together his love of small apartments with IKEA’s Interior Design Team who can turn any space into a happy home. The mission is to rent out a real tiny apartment in Tokyo’s city center, fully furnished with IKEA solutions for the insanely low price of 99 yen per month *exclusively for IKEA Family Members.

Agent BLÅHAJ finds a real, tiny 10m2 apartment in Tokyo. Then he enlists the help of IKEA’s Interior Design Team to transform the space with the power of IKEA’s home furnishing solutions. Turning a tiny, challenging space, into a stylish and enviable home. The full makeover process is covered through a four-part original mini-series through ikea.jp and social channels. The series includes the introduction of Agent BLÅHAJ and his mysterious origins and love of small spaces, to him hitting the streets of Tokyo to find the perfect small apartment, to working with IKEA experts to turn the room into a happy home.
